After assisting Karan Johar in My Name is Khan, Dhawan made his acting debut in 2012 with the film Student of The Year, alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt. The movie was a huge hit and his role of Rohan Nanda as a teen-aged son of Superrich was well received and was praised by critics. His next release was Main Tera Hero in 2014, which was also a commercial success.
The very same year he appeared in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. This film was a huge success and Dhawan’s performance was well appreciated by both critics and audiences.
